The branded milk distribution market in India is around Rs.40,000 crore and the market in growing by 10-12% per year. The demand ofbranded milk in urban areas has increased despite the price hikes.

Why?
Despite India being the largest milk producer in theworld and having a huge base of around 11million farmers, very little is doneto regulate and facilitate this segment. Poor cattle feeding practices, poor accessto institutional credit, lack of cold storage facilities, milk adulteration hasled to urban population shift to more reliable packaged milk.
